Prior to joining Sheldon Lobel, P.C. , Mr. Minkin was associated with
Stroock & Stroock & Lavan for 15 years. He is involved in zoning map amendments, zoning and land use variances, special permits, administrative appeals regarding the Building Code, Zoning Resolution and Fire Prevention Code, as well as landmark certifications. He has appeared before the Board of Standards and Appeals, City Planning Commission, Landmarks Preservation Commission, and the Department of Buildings.
Mr. Minkin also handles litigation matters and appearances before the Criminal Court, Supreme Court, and Environmental Control Board.
From 1960 to 1985 he was employed by the New York City
Department of Buildings as Deputy Commissioner, Director of
Operations, Executive Engineer, Chief Plan Examiner and Plan
Examiner, where he was involved with the enforcement of the
Building Code, Zoning Resolutions, Multiple Dwelling Law,
Housing Maintenance Code, Labor Law, and other laws, rules
and regulations governing the construction, maintenance, use
and occupancy of buildings and structures.
